How to apply for a national qualification in drilling
(Are you asking for a waterwell driller’s licence? Go to About Waterwell Driller Licensing)
Are you looking for national qualifications (eg Certificate 3 in Drilling Operations)? You’re in the right place.
ADITC provides national qualifications for drilling, by training and by formal assessment processes.
For how to apply, see this link.
Who is eligible?
Anyone is eligible to apply to ADITC for the distance learning training that ADITC offers for people who are new to the industry (the DICAT Course).
Anyone currently working in the industry is eligible for a national qualification.
People who have recently left a drilling job may be eligible for a qualification.
When and where can I start?
You can apply and start any of these options at any time. You will need to pay a fee to enrol.
In the drilling industry people need to have significant experience to be able to show competence in each qualification level. People do not train and get the qualification first and then enter the industry (as for electricians). They learn on the job, because due to the size, cost and range of sectors in the industry, only companies in the industry really have the current equipment at site which is needed for training and assessment. Therefore we do not have ‘classes’, but we provide distance learning material and co-operate with the company.
You don’t have to leave site to get a qualification, which is one of the great advantages of training or getting a qualification with ADITC.
