What Do We Do?

Additionally, the organisation also provides services to drillers' licensing, and the delivery, assessment and recording of training relevant to the industry. It is our responsibility to retain records of qualification issue for the industry.

    • We do three main things: We advise both government and industry: In its role as an industry consultant, the ADITC gets input from its industry representatives, all of whom are leaders in their various fields of expertise, and from its other contacts in the industry. We use this information to represent the drilling sector in getting appropriate government services for industry, and to feed back information about those services to our industry sector.
    • We provide advice to government on technical issues and industry training requirements.
    • We audit industry training in drilling to make sure that standards of training and assessment set by the industry, and agreed by government, are met.

We also provide a range of training services and products: The ADITC has undertaken both training and consulting projects for all sectors of industry throughout Australia and worldwide. We developed and administer the industry recognised DICAT External Study Programme for driller training. We conduct face-to-face training programmes, designed to suit the specific requirements of the client, including the drilling industry, mining companies, government departments, geologists and engineers, universities, TAFE colleges and Schools of Mines in universities.

We write and sell industry technical reference publications. We have also developed most of the reference texts and training courses accepted by the drilling industry, and presented face-to-face training programmes to industry by trained trainers. We develop specialised training courses.

Our funding is derived from industry donation, delivery of charged services and management and consultancy fees for carrying out relevant projects for either industry or government parties.
