Queensland Government Draft Competency Standard for the Petroleum and Gas Drilling Industry (2011)

The Principal Inspector, Petroleum and Gas for Queensland has released the final new Competency Standard for the Petroleum and Gas Drilling Industry (2011).This standard provides the requirements for demonstration of competence by personnel working in the petroleum, coal seam gas and gas industries in Queensland, including well workover rigs at this stage. Requirements are in force from 01 January 2012 for conventional oil and gas/coal seam gas drilling and workover; and for mineral exploration rigs with an expectation of encountering coal seam gas or undertaking coal seam gas drilling.
